Well, it happened. The famed groundhog Punxsutawney Phil saw his shadow last week, sentencing us to another six weeks of winter. What does this mean for upcoming plans of the luxury traveler???

It means it’s time to embrace the wintery weather and take a snow-inspired trip!

Coincidently, my mind raced to a Newsweek feature I recently read on “5 Incredible Ski Spots.” Newsweek compiled some of the craziest/coolest ski destinations; some even permit yearlong travel opportunities!

The list includes Canada’s Revelstoke Mountain Resort, host of the 2010 Winter Olympic Games, and the Middle East’s first indoor ski resort – Ski Dubai. I’m predicting that I’ll be dying to try out one of these cool-weather spots by the time the famous Florida heat and humidity reaches a peak this summer.
