In our ever-constant search to discover trends/tips in the luxury travel realm, we’ve discovered something that has everyone talking… nannies in the sky!
In an effort to make traveling with young children less stress-inducing, Nanny in the Clouds is a new company dedicated to matching eager-to-work babysitters with families seeking assistance wrangling the little ones during airplane travel. Reviewed by TIME Magazine as a good idea, the site has garnered worldwide attention, and we think this might just be one of the next big things in the travel industry.
With airplane travel ever less spacious and accommodating, this new service seems particularly attractive for parents traveling solo with multiple youngsters. The Nanny in the Clouds service is free to sign up for and browse for potential travel helpers. If you find a potential nanny in the sky in your area, it’s only $10 to contact them. These “travel companions” of course provide references and background experience. A recent Today.com feature on the new service noted that the fledgling service has yet to make any nanny/family matches, but you have to admit that it’s an idea worth considering.
Though I’ve never had {the pleasure?} of wrangling/entertaining/controlling a rowdy little one in a tight, crowded space 36,000 feet, I can imagine it’s a less than relaxing experience, especially during extended cross-continental flights.
Unless you’re privileged enough to fly in your own private jet with a nanny in tow, another set of hands {and nerves} to help contain the little rascals seems like a good idea for parents and other passengers onboard.
What do you think? Will this trend take off or stay grounded?
